This Father’s Day card is for my father-in-law, one of the kindest most hard-working men I’ve ever known.Using one of my nifty dies I cut a scene from the same thrifted wrapping paper I used for my mother-in-law’s birthday card. I jazzed up the front a bit with my colored pencils and inked the edges of the paper to give it more depth and age. I wasn’t sure if the bow was too feminine, but I think the brown makes it less so. (I digitally covered the personal sentiment, so there’s really not an ugly grey box there.)

I stamped a matching piece of paper and tucked a little fish pin into the inside strip of ribbon to finish it off.

I hope all of my cards get to their destination on time. My best friend’s Mother’s Day card just arrived this past Friday!

This is the sweetest one I’ve ever seen. I love the joy.

Crying and laughing, this IS the best one ever!

Say you spot a stranger on the street, blissfully unaware of her skirt tucked into her tights, and she’s walking around with her thong exposed. Or a coworker is talking to you with a piece of spinach in their teeth. You’d tell them, right? Even if it’s a bit awkward.

Friends and Tumblrs: your fly is open.

Here’s the loophole I’ve discovered: on my phone app (Android), I can see when a user asks themselves an “anonymous” question. The cloak of anonymous works fine when seen in a web browser, and maybe even on an iPhone, so it’s possible users are totally unaware of this exposure. But on my phone, the Tumblr’s username and photo appear as the ask as well as the answer, and in the answer they’re addressing themselves as anonymous. It’s amusing (but not in the schadenfreude way), and kind of sweet. Frankly, I understand the approach of a little Q&A to express yourself. Still, I won’t demonstrate this discovery with screen shots.

So you’ve been warned. Your choice if you wanna zip up that fly.

Remember this give-away for a corrugated-looking ceramic dish/piece of art? Well, it’s now mine all mine!

One of the corners crumpled in shipping, but the cool thing is it actually looks like it’s meant to be that way. This happy accident just added more character to an already unique piece of pottery

Thank you, Storage Geek and Greyslater for being awesome!

DARK SHADOWS—Some favorite moments, lines and flubs. (by marquisdd)

I had forgotten just how hokie this was, and those bats! The fly on Barnabus’ forehead, the unexpected background noises, too funny. I saw Barnabus pick his nose, I wonder if that one’s floating around somewhere.

Miss Winifred got a new name tag! I purchased it from ODDDog-Creations on Etsy, but you can also check them out on Facebook, which you have to check out anyway because Miss Winifred is one of his models!

I’ve finished all the Father’s Day cards on my list, so guess what I’ll be posting.
This one’s for my brother John. He’s an oiler, climbs into those big ol’ mining trucks like Ukes and gets down and dirty.

I took a page from a pad of paper with grunge/steampunky-ish images on it and attached a few gear-cog-type embellishments. Silver lettering spells out his name. I used a simple gold brad on the inside. You can’t see it, but I traced around the images on the inside with a sparkle-silver pen to give it a hint of a glint. (I digitally covered the mushy hand-written sentiment, so there isn’t actually a weird grey box.)

Even though I tell my big brother how much he means to me, I don’t think he realizes just how much. He’s one of the funniest, hard-working, loyal, most endearing guys you’d ever want to meet. I love him a lot.

Oh … & I’d have used my best Batman voice, too. Yes, I would have.

This town could use a Batman, come on down!
Dawn surprised me with this fabulous piece of Oz-someness! It’s a Tarina Tarantino piece, something I never thought I’d have. See? Spoiled.

My daughter and I were at Goodwill a few weeks ago and came across a creepy guy doing this sort of thing. He was lurking in the children’s clothes section pretending to look at them when he was actually watching a little girl, about 10, in a spaghetti strap tank and shorts. We kept an eye on him to be sure he didn’t get near the little girl, and when she finally went to her mother I walked over there and told her what was going on. She was so grateful.

When I began telling one of the clerks about the creepy guy she started shaking her head up and down and knew exactly who I was talking about before I even pointed him out. She asked if I would be willing to talk with her manager and tell him about it. Apparently when she said something he didn’t take her seriously and did nothing. So she brought the manager to me (he was very young) and I told him what I observed, but he wasn’t taking me seriously either. Maybe he didn’t care or didn’t have the nerve to do anything about it. I gave my name and phone number and said I’d be willing to tell anyone who needed to hear about creepy guy.

When we left, creepy guy was still there with most every woman in the place watching him, and the manager still hadn’t done a thing about it.
